Plaque build-up on the teeth, resulting in gum inflammation (gingivitis) is the most common cause. Bleeding gums may also be a result of gum disease (periodontitis). If your gums are bleeding constantly, you will need to get it checked out by a dentist.
The recommended age for a child's first checkup is at 1 year of age according to the Australian Dental Association. By bringing them with you to your appointment, this helps them familiarize themselves with the environment.
